A SILVER WEDDING

I An event of interest to a large circle of friends took place on Sunday, February 9th, when Mr and Mrs H. B. Gordon, of J'Bata%e'nua,'' Lower- Hutt, celebrated their silver "Wedding, having been married twenty-five years ago at St. James's Church, the cerej^ony~ being performed by the late Yen., Archdeacon Faneourt, and Rev. Joshua Jones. ■ ~ . A large gathering took place for lunch at "Rawhenua," all tie members , of the .family being present, "also a number of- .friends and relatives. Among the . latter were Mrs Hewitt (aunt of the bride), and Miss Hewitt of Palmerston North, and late of Lower Hiitt; also Mrs Henry Gordon of Wellington (aunt of the bridegroom), ail of whom had been present at the actiial ceremony. Other friends were entertained at afternoon-tea and supper," and a very pleasant time was passed "by all. ■■■.-. v

and maidenhair: fern, and a handsome wedding cake was cut by the bride.

Some beautiful gifts were presented to the happy pair, and congratulations and good wishes for the future were heartily expressed. '..-'■
