There were present Mr. F. S. Hewer, chairman, and Messrs Mitchell, Gostelow, Leighton and Chapman. The engineer was also in attendance. ' Considerable discussion took place on the question of Matey's Eoad. 35t was decided that, a conference of all parties concerned be arranged. '. ■ Permission was granted for; the Board's, office staff to attend the Local Bodies' picnic. / A license to establish et mechanical shingle plant north of th« old bridge was granted, subject to a lease being acceptable to all parties. .. An application to erect a bridge coiir necting the Wyndrum and Bumside testates was granted. , . . ; ' The annual' inspection by members of the Board was fixed for 25t& inst. The Secretary ot the Petone Payers of Hutt River Board' Rates Committee wrote asking the Board to receive a deputation from the committee In connection with rates and also _ i&atters connected with the Western Arm of the Tiver. • It 'was' decided to receive the deputation at the next meeting of t&e Board. Mr Mitchell sTaggesteft that two memibers be appointed to consider the reclamation work. He considered the work' 4 was not going-on fast enough. Messrs Mitchell and Chapman were'appointed to report on the matter.
