Donationsw ere received from. Messrs Austin, Pye, Rangiwhetu and Johnston.; • Reports of work were read by Scout \ and Cub-masters Douthett and Joyce. f
The Scoutmaster reported that -the opening of, the Technical" classes hjad f somewhat disorganised- the attendance ; of scouts, and it "was thought that some rearrangement of the meeting night-, could meet the problem. Good progress. was reported, and a much appreciated; visit from the District Commissioner, ~, Mr, Nelson. An -extraordinarily good : drawing was done by the leader of the • Mqrepork Patrol, some committee mem- - bers having to have a second look to convince themselves that it was not e,\ black and white print or an engraving. As a 'good scout, no doubt this lad will pass on some.lessons in his wonderftii. gift to his patrol.
The Cubmaster reported the passing of the tenderpad by nine of the Cubs, and the removal of three cubs by sickness in one case, and .families leaving the district in two others; their places have been filled by new cubs, Heath Thompson bringing one to add to his six, w2rich t>y the way, is only foiir so far. One leader, Jerry Bangiwhetu, has had to be < atway so long that he cannot catch up for some time, but we ; hope that he will soon be with us, quite well again, and -shine t«hat infectious grin on us. After three months of
watching the boys at work, the committee can see that the first choice of leaders was a wise one in mosit oases, and have a good leader .ready when numbers warrant it, in, Okris. Pegler. The Committee passed a vote of thanks to - Scoutmaster Douthett and Cubmaster Mrs Joyce, for their interesting and comprehensive report. The opportunity to see over the Railway Workshops one Saturday afternoon was availed of.
