A KINDLY FUNCTION.
Last Monday evening the members of the Girls'. Auxiliary connected with. St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, met at the manse to say good-bye to Miss. Winnie Hagart, on the eve of her marriage to Mr. Gordon FinTay. * The gathering took the form/Of a kitchen evening. Games and competitions kept the evening going. At a suitable timte Miss C. McNeil, (vice-president) in the absence of Miss Ruth Cartwrig&t, (president), who-"is on Jioliday, voiced the feeling of all present to Miss Hagart. She has been a loyal and useful member and will be missed very much. Miss McNeil wished her happiness and prosperity in_her new iaome. The Bey J. E. Lopdell replied For Miss Hagart and thanked' everyone for their presence and their practical gifts. Thereafter Miss Hagait opened the parcels, to the amusement and interest of all present. A nice supper was handed round.. After all singing ' 'For She's a Jolly Good Fellow," and "Auld Lang Syne" the Rev J. E. Lopdell closed with prayer and t&us a very liappy and profitable evening was brought to a~ close...
