ASSAULT IN TAITA HALL
'•DONE IN HEAT OF MOMENT"
A disturbance occurred during supper at the Taita Dance Hall on. the night of Saturday, December 14th, 1929, and as a result Harry Turvey, Svho did not appear was charged at the Lower Hutt Court yesterday with assaulting Francis James Bartosh. *
Sergeant McHolm stated that the trouble arose at the supper table when defendant, who had had a few drinks, started throwing food kbout, and when spoken to by Committee-man F. C Bar tosh, defendant struck him on the face with Jus fist. Defendant had admitted the offence and was very sorry he had.done so, as it had happened in the heat of the moment.
The_ Magistrate, Mr. T. B. McNeil, said he. would>talce into consideration the fact that defendant had'pleaded guilty, and as the assault occurred in the heat of the moment, defendant would be convicted and discharged.
