PLUCKY ACTION BY LOWER HUTT RESIDENT.

A cable message from Cape Town, dated January lOth, reports the following interesting incident, concerning Mr C. IVNoTthe, of Lower : Hutt.

Seaman 55"orthe, a_ JTetv. .Zealanier,pluckily returned to the Limpopo daily, and by means of a rope salvaged water and provisions for the stranded men.

though he had not followed a seafaring life set out last March to work his way about the world. He sailed to Englani from New* Zealand as a member of the crew of the Cornwall, leaving last March. After touting England he decided to work his way to Africa, and shipped as a seaman in the Limpopo, which has now been 'wrecked;. In a letter the tourist, w2io had not previr ously worked as a seaman, stated that they were having a stormy^ and unpleasant voyage.
