FANCY DRESS BALL
At Wainui-ormata the New Year was ushered in by a masked fancy dress ball organised most successfully - by the School Committee. The dresses were excellent and. the general effect most pleasing. ■ Pvizerwinners were: Mrs W. Burdan> '' Jolm Bull, ' Ja very typical represen tation; Miss-Whyte,who wore an elaborate Eastern costume"; and Miss Baskette, who had. all the dainty chairm of ; </Tita:aia'.7- J'..-:.'Tnb-",;. gentlemen selected'were Mr R. Dick' ("Pirate"), Mr .Tar rett. (/'A .Narrow Escape"), and Mr August ("Jockey"). v-Mhisiic''was supplied by the Petone Regent Orchestra. At the conclusion of the evening three hearty cheers were given the New Tear's birthday being greatly enjoyed by all present.
