The montlily meeting of the Lower Hutt Borough CouJicil washeldi on Monday night last. Present His Worship the Mayor and Crs. Allen, Atkinson, Cudby, itnight, Ransom, Whitton, and the clerk, Mr Jackson. . (

Tlie resignation, of Mr J. McCormack as poundkeeper was read by the clerk and accepted. Mr P. Casey, of the Central Hotel was appointed to the office.

Mr P. Casey of the Central Hotel was granted permission to erect a drinking trough outside the hotel, provided it is placed! in such a position as to be of no inconvenience to the public.

The Mayor brought forward the necessity of having a board erected in the pound with schedule of fees authorised to "be charged; by the Impounding Act..
