Nominations for the election of five members to the Hutt River Board closed on January 2nd with the secretary of the. Board, Mr A. J. Gearing. "
•Eleven nominations wcre~received, as follows:—Messrs A. R. Barnes, G. A". Chapman, Cecil Gostelow, F. 8. Hecwer, ; George Hooper, H. E. Leighton, Jolm Mitchell, A,. J. Nicholls, V. A. Noble, T. E. Sheil, and W. H. Smith. The nomination of Mr E. Hogg was also received; but was informal on ac-'j count of Mr Hogg- not being a rate-, payer. . . ■ j The., present members on the Board who are seeking re-election ..are F.- S. Hewer, "W. H. Smith, J. Mitchell, and C. Gostelow. The election will take place on Tuesday, January 14th, and the "returning officer is Mr Gearing. j ; Polling Booths will be situated! at the following places:— •.
