The monthly meeting of the Genejal Cdmmittee was held on Tuesday, sth November! Mr. D. S. High Commissioner for New Zealand.

' Hon. T. M. Wilford, K.C., and Member for the Hutt, •lias received tlie important. appointment of High Commissioner for i^ew Zealand, and leaves N9ay Zealand to take lip his new dnties on December 7th.

Hon. Mr. Wilfo'rd will be heartily congratulated on the honour conferred upon him, and'all sections of the country will agree that he is well fitted for the high iDositioii, and will worthily uphold the credit -of this fair dominion. '
