Mrs Porter presided, anQ addressed the gathering, explaining that the sudden removal of Mrs. S. S. Mason from the Wellington district had "slightly dislocated the work. Mrs. Mason had been president of the branch since its inception six years ago. WaTm appreciation of hor service was voiced* by several of those present. Mrs Barker moved a'resolution, which was carried unanimously, that all members work Ihard, not only to sustain the record of the past, but to extend the interest. The chairwoman spoke upon the growth of the society's operations in New Zealand and in the Homeland, All were most keen, and several volunteered to help. Mrs Russell waseleeted secretary, Mrs M3.OT.son, ~ treasurer, and Mesdames. S y nies, Pike, Russell, Mawson, and Misses Serwell and Porter collectors. The election .of president was left until Inter. At the close all were entertained "by the members to afternoon tea, which was much appreciated, and a hearty, vote of thanks was accorded them. Mrs. Porter was presented with
