IN AND ABOUND TAITA
Taita met Old Boys on the localground last Saturday when a good game resulted. Old Boys are leading in the Junior Championship and it was expected Old Boys would have a runaway victory. This was not to be however, for Taita put up a great fight, and during the first half they played a strong attacking game. L. Murray scored the only try for Taita and Eric Foster, with great judgment kicked two beautiful penalty goals. Old Boys are a good team but also j is Taita, who were on the defensive up I to the call of time, the'game ending with hondurs even, 9 all. • Next Saturday Taita will meet Athletic on the local ground. This should 1 prove an interesting game. | The Sixth grade team registered a
win over Athletic last Saturday by 12 to nil. . : The Maori Mission, held last week in J aid of the Methodist Church was a great success, and the large audience thoroughly, enjoyed the poi dances, hakas, melodies and instrumental items rendered by the Maori troupe under the leadership of Bey. Seamer. Mrs H.- Foley presided over the first meeting of the newly-formed Plunket Sub-committee at Taita. The following new members were added to the committee :—Mesdames A. Burgess and F. Kitchener. The nurses' report for the month showed the following figures: New cashes 3, visits of adults to rooms 74, babies and older children 93. The secretary received instructions to advise the nurse of an alteration in the i- hours of attendance, wjueh it is hoped
will suit the mothers better. Matters in connection with raising funds to help
the Central Committee were discussed. It was agreed to hold a house-€o-liouse canvass at Taita and Stokes Valley as soon as. possible, and districts were allocated.
