HORTICULTURAL.
The monthly meeting of the Hutt Valley Horticultural. Society was held on "Wednesday, 7th inst. The President (Mr. D. S. Patrick), presided over a good attendance of members.- Eight new menibeTS were elected.
Correspondence was received from th private sertary to His "Excellency the Governor-General aeeepting the position of patrons and patroness to the Society on behalf of Sir. Charles arid Lady Fergusson. Their Exeellaaeies also accepted the Society's invitation to open the Spring Show on Tuesday, 17th September.
The secretary reported satisfactorily on the canvas for advertisements in the Schedule, and also that a number of donations had been promised to tie
prize fund"
The date for t-he Rose Shaw was fixed for 20th November and it was decide I to hold the Gladioli SJhow on two days —February sth and 6th.
The Schedule Committee reported amendments to the 1929-30 Schedule
which were adopted
It was decided to invite Mr. Guy Wilson of Ireland, who, is visiting the Dominion, to -judge the Narcissi Classes at the ~ Spring Shaw with the local judge. ; . " The question of 'better accommodation for, storage of tables etc., was referred to the Executive Committee with power to actV .'"'..'",' A very enthusiastic meeting of the Ladiee Committee was held and various matters "were discussed and sub committees and judges and stewards were appointed, .. . The year 1929-30 promises to be a very interesting and successful season.
