Fox various reasons the ease, -viiich was originally heard a/t Lower JJutft, h«as been adjourned several times, but it reached final stages in' the Wellington Magistrate's CouTt on Friday last.

After hearing one more witness for the. defence, Mr. T. B. McNeil, S,M,, convicted Leeming for exposing liquor for sale, but dismissed the eliatrge •of 1 selling, while the charge of unlawfully opening the premises was withdrawn. Leeming was fined £5/1/-, security for appeal being fixed at £10/10/-, plus tlie amount of t!he fine and costs.

Langridge and Flitter w-ere each- fined £2. on the first charge against them, the second charge being dismissed, while Cotton who, in an effort t<x warn a man had called ouit: "Clear out; the 'Johns' are here," was also fin«d £2 for obs«truc,ting the police. Mr. W. Perry appeared for all the defendants. . "
