WEDDING BELLS

A pretty evening wedding was solemnised at St. David's Presbyterian Church, Petone onjWednesday, when Gwendoline 'Irene, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Hunter was married to Victor, eldest son of Mr and Mrs F. Bertelsen. The Rev. J. G. Loan officiated and MrW.f. Rennie presided at the organ.

The bride entered the church escorted by her father and looked charming in her beautiful bridal robe of cream embossed georgette with, peaked skirt of marriette, the coronet composed of silver- tissue tulle with orange blossoms held in place by diamante '. trimmings. Her shower "' bouquet consisted' of fieezias and Bweet peas. The chief bridemaid, Miss V. Unwin, sister of the bride, wore a dainty frock of green georgette with diamante trimmings and bouquets to match. Misses R." Hands (Wellington) and E. Forsyth (Dunedin) cousins of the bride wore~pretty frocks, the former being attired in lemon georgette with diamante trimmings with the latter in pale blue and diamante trimmings. The bouquets were beautifully arranged to tone. Their bandeaux were of silver tissue and tulle to match the dresses. Mr N. Sundgreen was best man accompanied by Mr T. McHardy and Mr H. Unwin as groomsmen.

After the ceremony the 60 guests were entertained at' a reception in the Oddfellows ' Hall and were received by the bride 's parents. Mrs Hunter wore a dress of peacock blue and silver tissue and carried a posy of anemonies and maidenhair fern. Mrs Bertelsen wore a frock of embossed georgette and trimmings and her posy was of anemonies to match. The toast of the bride's parents was honoured by Mr R. Forsyth (Dunedin while Mr Hawkins proposed that of the bridegroom's parents. Dancing and games were indulged in,- the music being supplied by Messrs Thorns and Bertelsen.

The happy couple who were the recipients of many handsome presents and messages of congratulations, afterwards left for the North, the bride travelling in a dress of woollen crepe de chine and brown coat and hat.

Vincent, cyclamen crepe de chine and, cream lace; Miss M. Caldwell, navy and fawn; Miss V. Armstrong, pink satin and net; Miss L. Armstrong, blue crepe de chine. Messrs BriscoV Armstrong, Patterson, Hawkins, Forsyth, Hands, Eades, H. Hands and Calvert. The catering was capably carried out by Mr and Mrs Thomas.
