The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Bose of the Valley Lodge was held on Thursday, the 6th in&t., Bro W. B. MeKenzie presiding over a large attendance. Seven new candidate's were initiated. Four others were proposed for membership. Among those present were Dist. Grand Master Bro. B L Bell; Deputy" Grand Master, Bro. B. K. Couper; District Secretary, Bro. E. Guise; District Conductor, Bto. W. Wainwrig&t-and many other visitors,including Sisters Bell and Couper of Loyal Sister Wallis Lodge.

•Instalation of officers for the ensuing term was then conducted by D.G.M. Bro. Bell as follows:—l.P.N.G. Bro W. B. McKenzie; N.G. Bro. T. Teasdale; V.G. Bro. H. Hardy; "Warden, Bro. A.^, Stevenson; Guardian, Bro. W. Kells; E.S. Sister S. Beynolds; Lecture Master, Sister A. Reynolds^ Pianist, Bro. 0. Bertelsen; Conductors, Sister Davis and Bro. H. Teasdale; District Grand Master, Dept; Dstrict Sec. and Dist. Conductor suitably addressed the newly installed officers as to their duties, thus having a great effect. The next meeting is on Thursday June 20th, and is a special meeting to receive the judge's report on Bitual Competition aid presentation of same to successful Lodge, along with the Turner merit jewels. The Loyal Bose of the Valley now being the pTesent holders of this shield, and N.G. Merit Jewels, and as thi3 meeting wll have a considerable amount of business before it, the Lodge has decided to open at 7 p,m when a large attendance of sisters and brothers is hoped for to give the city Lodges and the District Grand Maatex and hia officers a hearty welcome.

The secretary of the Social Committee (Bro. R, Jenkins), gave his report and stated that the fortnightly dance held on May 29th was a huge success and hoped for a continuance of attendance of aUsisters, brothers and friends. Bro. Bertelsen officiated at the piano.
