LOWER HUTT LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
In spite of the inclement weather there was a very fair attendance at the Lower Hutt Branch of the League of Mothers. It was with great TegTet that the members learned that Miss MeLean, M.A., G.8.E., was indisposed and therefore unable to speak, as hit-herto -advised. . The mothers are looking forward to hearing her next time. The afternoon took the form of an informal social gathering, Mesdames Burgess; and Mitchell delighted all with their sinking and Mrs. Lopdell with two very entertainiiig Tead- '» ings. After afternoon tea, under the eonvenorship - of' Mesdames Gx>stelow,% , Hall and Burgess, a debate took place, W m the subject being:—"Should a parent^* insist on implicit obedience from hex child?" A number of mothers ex- | pressed their views and all felt that some very fine thoughts had been interchanged. The eveche with its numbet of little ones and willing assistants is a very pleasing feature of the League. Several new members \vere admitted, a short admission service being held. .
