The President,. Mr. Strong,' explained that he _ and his colleagues had with.drawn from, the on the ground that the reversal of civic-policy and alteration to the selected list of candidates for the Borbugh Council.election was unconstitutionally transacted. The settled policy and approved candidates had been tke subject of discussion and review extending- over many w6eks, but some sinister influence had been recently working for the destruction of unanimity at the biennial borough election. v
'The President V statement was^ supported by other representatives, .who, inter alia,; mentioned that the election policy and lis^ of candidates had bsen forwarded to the affiliated associations and had .been ratified,.
Members discussQd the, sitiiation and condemned the conduct of tiie ' representatives of the affiliated associations^
-The meeting affirmed the principle of inviolability of agreements, and declared that contracting. parties must be constitutionally" notified and summoned together .when the'*e vision of,, departure from, or additions to . existing agreements are -suggested. .
Members congratulated the President and his colleagues on their insistent stand for ingenuous ethics during the proceedings, and endorsed their action in "withdrawing from tsie executive.
The. secretary was -instructed, «*to notify the candidates for the ensuing borough eleetioii that the association would unequivocally adhere to its promised support, of their candidatures. '■"■ - .- ..
