TO THE ELECTORS OF THE BOROUGH OF LOWER HUTT. Ladies and Gentlemen, — As a candidate for a seat on the Lower Hutt Borougli Council, I would like to remind hew residents of this district that \I have, lad 6 years previous experience on the Council, 8 years on the Hutt Valley Power Board, 8 years on the Scenic Committee, and 2 years on the Hospital Board. During that time I have always done my best for the welfare of this progressive district at the same time tried to keep the rates as I6w as possible. My policy if elected, would be to see that each district in the borough received a fair share of its rates spent in its district. This has not be,en done by the outgoing council.: To the old resident of .the Borough -I would remind you that the two previous elections my .'last words' w.er£. JJ IJesyar-cu. and,, watch the ,rates ; 'r . I claim now -my words have come true, If we want more residents in the Valley we" want to watch our rates, at the same time do not stop the 'advancement,, of our district. As regards the Loan for Tar Sealing our roads I would"" like to see it done, and although I ride a motor I would not support tie loan until our footpaths in all districts are in good pTder. At the present time y in some districts they are a disgrace and winter coming r dn, ,the women and children have to be considered as well as the motor. The residents of this 'district will havetickets issued to them advising v ,them who to vote for.' All the years 'I: spent- on local-bodies I iad no party- behind me. I do what I think is best without fear; or favoury and- I ask you good people to think foT, yourselves. The vote is yours; go to the Polling Booth and express your own opinion without fear or favour, If you do that I feel sure there will be an alteration in the present administration of this borough, and t'hat-I ;will receive your support. If, you do' not "alter the present administration —Beware. , Yours truly, . Ex-Councillor WALTER COTTON", i. , : Lower Hutt.
