THE EMOTIONS.
The elections will be a thing of t»h.e past when oar next issue reaches the hands of our readers and it is thought that a few points for voters would be opportune.
The polling places are notified in anotlver column of this issue and voters will materially assist the smooth running of the ejections by voting at t&e booth nearest his qr her place of residence as ' this relieves the pressue on the^ principal booth.
The method of striking out the names of^ the candidate or candidates • not wanted should be followed, but the paper will be valid so long as the intention of the voter is clearly indicated thereon. . .-- Voting by declaration will be • per-
missible but is confined to those who had reason to believe that when the roll closed their names were included thereon. It is understood that this provision was included in the statutes to provide for electors who signed forms of enrolment j>rior to t>he closing of the roll but for some reason the forms were received tod late.'
The fact that a name was on the ParliamentaTy Eoll which, as has been pointed out before, is quite different from the Municipal Roll, will not enable a person desiring to vote to truthfully sign the declaration necessary to obtain votipg papers. Any person who knowingly and wilfully rn^kes a false statement in any declaration, shall be liable to a fine of £50.
Voting by Bodies Corporate: Any Corporate Body, the name of which is
entered on the roll may; by resolution appoint some person to vote on its behalf. Any Incorporated Society or Association of persons ■or any firm, copartnership, or • joint tenants, ""whose name or names appear upon the 8011,
