MUNICIPAL ROLL.
According to a notification elsewhere in tMs issue, the. roll to be used at the forthcoming Municipal Elections closes finally on Wednesday next, the old April at 5 p.m., after which time it will not be possible to enrol. It therefore behoves all those who are still off the tfoll to have their names placed theron without delay, otherwise thoy will be unable to record their votes on election day which is the Ist of May.
As has been pointed out before, there is often confusion between the roll used for Parliamentary elections and^ that used for Municipal purposes. These rolls are compiled by different authorities and cover totally different areas and for that reason it is not possible, to use the one roll for. both elections. The onus is on the elector to see. that he. or she is on the roll.
We are advised that the office of the Borough Council, instead of closing at 4 p.m as is;-usual,' will remain open until 5 p.m. next Wednesday for the purpose of receiving claims for enrolment. J "" '
