Miss Stuart Forbes and Miss Gwen Stuart Forbes have returned to their home after an extended holiday in the Old Country.

Mesdames Finlayson and Clayson, (Masterton), who are competitors in the Wellington Croquet Tournament, are the guests of Mrs. W. Andrews, Lower Hutt. • • • • .

The death is chronicled this week of Mr. William S. Pike, of Taita, aged 63 years. As a young man the late Mr. Pike was one of Wellington's best known athletes and footballers. For some years he was in the service of the Union Bank of Australia.

Miss Kathleen Bartosh, who is visiting Christehurch, is returning to tower Hutt on Saturday.

One of the Valley's oldest settlers passed away at Upper Hutt last week in the person of Mrs. Wm, Burrel. The deceased had resided in Upper Hutt since her marriage 61 years ago.
