HUTT COURT
The monthly sitting of the Lower Hutt Magistrate's Court was held yesterday. M± J. H. Salmon, S.M. presided. .
Henry Benge, John Bearman, Mathow Feehan, Harold Kearney, .1 ames Maher, Sidney Selwood, James Broughton and John Noblo McKiniioti were
convicted and lined £1 each, for being found onlicenst-d premises afi.-sr hours. MeKinnon was fined £2 for gi/ vn^ a /vvrong, name and address. The convictions were the result oi visits paid by the police to. the Provincial Hotol, Upper Hutt and Quinn's Post Hotel, 'Trentham on the night of the 15th Dficeniber last. • •
Charges against the licensee of the Provincial Hotel/ .Henry Marshall, were adjourned until the next sitting of the Court on 6th February.
• Gilbert William Hobnian ,who failed to give way to a vehicle oh the right when approaching- aii intersection v/ak convicted and .ordered to pay costs 22/-. . ■■'■;'.' ■• v ; --^ '.
Pat Nepia was sentenced to one month, 's imprisonment for being £2 -10s in arrears with a maintenance. order to be released on payment of. arrears ana a fine of £2 and costs.
Frank Malcolm Thessman was convicted and fined £1 and costs for interfering with, a drain between Mandel Street and White's Line by filling it in. The case. liad beAh adjourned from the last sitting of the court.

In; the case of the : Inspector of Awards (W. J. Mount joy) v. H. Watts judgment was given for plaintiff for £1.
In'judgment summons cases Ernest Biggs was ordered to pay Clendon Bros £57 14s 4d at the rate of:£3 per month in default 28 days; imprisonment; Joseph Driscoll to pay G. Brannigan y £9 10s at the rate of £2 per month i-n default 9 days' imprisonment; J. Matthews to pay G. E. Grantham £7 19s 6d at the rate of ss. per week, in default 8 days' imprisonment; G. Callum to pay V. G. Rudman £8 7s at the rate of 2s 6d per week in default 8 days'-irrtprisonmont; Oswpld Prior to pay Official Assignee £7 12s 6d forthwith in default 7 days? imprisonment; A. Hamilton to pay Clendori Bros £11 3s 3d at the rate, of £1. per month in default 11 days' imprisonment; J. G PJlchcr to pay Clendon Bros £4 ll.s 6d,' forwith in default 4 days' imprisonment; A. E. Matthews to pay K. L. Jenkins £28 3s at the rate of 5s per week, in default 28 days' imprisonment.
