TENMTS SECTION,

During the last week several club handicap games have been played which have been in all cases closely contested.

In the Men's Singles, W. Lees defeated R. Adams, 70—68, after a keen and interesting game. The winner is always a hard man when up against a solid opponent, and in this game he had all his work cut out to ..rwin. The loser plyed right up to his best form and was complimented by onlookers for his brilliant display. In the Ladies' Doubles, Miss Brooks and Miss Hazeldene were defeated by the Misses M. and T. Ayson. This was a surprise win, although it was well deserved by the victors. | Several ladder matches have been played and resulted in good games. V. Robinson defeated R. McDonald and has taken his place amongst the top four. B. Adams challenged V. Douglas, the latter -winningl by 9—6. This was a good game, the winner being at his best. Next Saturday the Senior A team play St. Augustine's at Petone, and the Senior B team play Methodist at home.
