AT TRENTHAM.
Glorious weather prevailed for the _>eeond day's racing of the Spring Meeting held by the Wellington Racing Club at Trentham on Labour Day. There was a good attendance and the racing was of a high standard. The gardens were gay with flowers, a bed of anenomies showing well on the green lawn. Among some Hutt visitors preI sent were: —Mrs Vivian Riddiford in a smart black frock, relieved with vest of , figured crepe de chene, large black hat with diamente buckle; Mrs Gage-Wil-liams, frock of royal blue, hat to tone; Mrs. Fairburn, black frock; Mrs Bayne blue frock, hat to match; Mrs Wyatt, wore a long black satin coat with black hat; Mrs Foster, blue ehennille frock; Mrs Greig, figured lime-coloured georgette, hat to tone; Mrs Hardcastle, tailored coat of fawn cloth, scarlet hat; Mrs Sherwood, ensemble suit of navy blue; Mrs Brodie, navy blue frock, black hat trimmed with pink flowers; Mrs Jervis, black frock; Mrs Ohesney, black and pink frock, black hat; Mrs. O. S. Watkins, black frock, large picture hat trimmed with white • osprey; Mrs. Power, grey costume with furs; Miss Pam Riddiford, smart jumper suit; Miss Jocelyn Riddiford, smart fawn coat with blue hat; Miss Joan Welch, ensemble suit of fawn and blue hat to match; Miss Zeta Chapman, lavender frock, hat to match; Miss Nea Jervis, royal blue crepe de chene, hat to tone; Miss Betty Jervis, black tailor-made costume, black hat; Miss Margaret Ryan, lavender ehennille jumper suit; Miss Eva Foster, jumper suit old rose chenille cloth.
