They throw up clean straight rods of from 10 to 12ft high each year, The largest bed of this variety containing some 100,000 plants was inspected at George's and found to be making excellent growth. Willow farming-may now be said to be an established fact and as there is a veiy keen demand, for the crop from basket-makers etc., all over the Dominion, it is hoped that in the near future the revenue derived from this source will be considerable. A local- firm of basket manufacturers has secured the cutting rights of all the Board's commercial willows at a satisfac.
