IMPERTIENT INTERFERENCE
(To the Editor). Sir, —It would appear from the report in the issue of the "Hutt News" of the 23th inst., that an association self-styled "Civic" intend to have the impertinence to write to a neighbouring Borough Council with reference to street lighting; it would also appear that this self appointed and unofficial gathering considers itself the custodian, of the rights and privileges of the residents of our borough. Very little appears to be known as to the membership of this so-called Civic Association, and I note that not one name is mentioned in the report as the originator of these distinctly impertinent resolutions or '' decisions.' ' The suggestion of neglect on the part of the Borough Council staff is not only unjustified but spiteful and mendacious. —I am etc., THEO. J. MITCHELL.. Lower Hutt, Sept. 16th 1928.
