WEDDING.
MILLTWARD—CHAPMAN.
A wedding which, created more than usual interest was solemnised at the Church of St. Peter and St. Pauls, Lower Hutt.on Tuesday afternoon, when Miss Lorna May Chapman, third daughter of Mr and Mrs G. A. Chapman of Woburn Eoad, was married to Mr John Millward, third son of Mr. C. F. Millward of Wanganui. The Rev. Father Daly officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a beautiful gown of ivoxy georgette with long rucked sleeves. The .skirt, which was cut circular, had an overdress of beaded georgetter. The long court train which was of silver t lace lined with pink georgette was hung from the shoulders. The veil was of spotted Limerick lace embroidered intiny clusters of roses and fastened round the head with a wreath of orange blossoms. The bride wore a lovely string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom and carried a bouquet of pink and white cyclamen and maiden hair fern. The bride was attended by her two sisters, the Mis.ses Zita and Cara Chapman, and wex-e gowned in frocks of scarlet ehennille chiffon cut on straight lines, flared on one side and hanging in uneven length. A large scarlet satin bow fell from the shoulder. The hats were of scarlet felt and they Wore necklaces of Rhinestone, the gift of the bridegroom and carried bouquets of scarlet anemonies and autumn leaves. The tiny train bearer, Miss Pattie Payne, looked charming in a dainty ■ frock of tucked ivory georgette and encircling her head was a tiny cap of silver lace. Mrs Chapman, mother of the bride, received her guests wearing wine colour Mariette trimmed wth ring velvet and gold thread" a becoming hat slightly upturned with large ornament to match, w.as of wine coloured velour. She carried a bouquet of Sweet Sultan and maidenhair fern. Mrs Millward, mother of the bridegroom, wore blackchenille velvet frock, black hat with white osprey. Mrs Godfrey Payne wore a black satin frock trimmed with fur, black hat with brilliant buckle on side. Miss Mollie Chapman looked picturesque in powder blue crepe de chene hat to match and carried a purple posy. Miss Eila Chapman was in almond green crepe de chene" with green hat to match. Among the guests were noticed Mrs Bishop, black georgette and lace dress and small black hat; Miss Iris Bishop, pink and black costume and grey hat; Mrs, Hardcastle, black crepe de chene, scarlet hat; Mrs L. Climie, black and white moraeain frock, black hat; Mrs Bradshaw, grey frock; Mrs. Harte, powder blue frock and nat to match; Mrs Mirams looked smart in a crepe de chene frock, of duck egg green and hat to match; Mrs Bayne, blue frock and fawn hat; Mrs B. S. Johnston, pleated frock of beige georgette, navy blue satin coat, hat to match; Miss Dorothy Innis was in flame coloured crepe de chene; Miss Jean in cornflower blue crepe de chene; Mrs. Innis was wearing black chepe de chene and black hat; Miss Pat. Matthews, floral pink crepe de chene, fawn hat; Miss Queenie Gray was in almond green crepe de chene, hat to match; Mrs Aldred, mole coloured frock with touches of vieux Tose, hat to maich; Mrs Hayward, shot dress of embossed chenille, black hat with brilliant buckle; Mrs. Leahy had on a mole coloured velvet coat trimmed with fur and hat to match; Mrs Wyett was in black; Mrs Olphert was wearing a black velvet coat with picture hat to match y Mrs Campbell, biege georgette and hat to match; Mrs McNamara, black with red hat; Miss Ana Pomare, black charmeuse, hat to match; Miss Mabel Anson, wine colour crepe de ehene frock, black hat.
After the reception Mr and Mrs John Milward left by ear for their future home in the north. The bride's travelling frock was of almond green crepe de chene, small cloache hat, and brown fur coat.
