MUNICIPAL BAND.

The band played out three nights during "Shopping Week" and helped considerably to make our town a "live town" during that period. Again on Monday evening, November 7th, the band attended the Swimming Carnival at Riddiford Baths and, considering the hour, 6.15 p.m., there was quite a good muster of members. It is with reg"ret that we have to report that Bandsman F. Greaves, of Normandale, has been laid aside for iseveral months by a severe1 illness and is now in the Wellington Hospital

(Ewart). The band wish to assist this member, and with this object in view have arranged a benefit concert to be held in the King George Theatre on Monday, November 28th, and will be staged by the Petone Black and White Entertainers. It is to be hoped that citizens will recognise that this concert is worthy of their utmost patronage. Tickets available from every bandsman.
