HUTT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL.
The additions to the Hutt Valley High School are proceeding apace and there is every hope that the hew rooms, which comprise six classrooms and a spacious library, a principal's study and an office, will be ready at the opening of the school year in February. This will complete the front of the building and the school will then be an imposing structure. Ultimately the wings will extend back on the east and west to enclose a large quadrangle with an assembly hall at the southern side.
Summer games have begun at the school, tennis being in full swing on the new courts, and baseball-rounders having caught the enthusiasm of the girls. Practice and match wickets are being prepared for cricket. The school has entered three teams for the intermediate grade competition. This is a competition arranged for the secondary schools of Wellington (Wellington College, St. Patrick's College, Scots College, the Technical College and the Hutt Valley High School), together with the Boys' Institute and the V.M.C.A.- The first boxing tournament of the school is being held shortly.
