By "CRITIC."

Another win was registered by the Senior team on Saturday, July 2nd, when; they met Welgasco in a championship match at Anderson Park. Welgasco had the best of the game for the first spell, the score at halftime being 2 to nil in their favour; but if the Hutt inside forwards had taken full advantage of the nicelyplaced crosses sent over by Batchelor on the right wing the honours should have been even. In the second spell Hutt started off in very determined fashion, and very soon- had penetrated their opponents' goal. The team, after that first goal, carried all before them, and scored five more before the final whistle sounded. The game endedr Hutt G, Welgasco 2r All the members of the Hutt team are to be heartily congratulated on their line display, and judging by their enthusiasm the "spectators on the line thoroughly enjoyed the game. J. Logic, who was playing centreforward, showed great improvement in that position,, and.two goals to his credit .ion Saturday, seem to point to him being the right man in the right place. Lowry, playing inside right, accounted for the other four goals, two of which were due to the wellplaced free kicks of J. Potts. Batcheloi*, on the right wing, was right on his game, his crosses being a feature of the match. Bell -and McLellan, on the left wing, played their usual good game, but the writer would like to impress on Bell that in taking corner kicks he should- try., and place the ball well into the field of play, instead of cutting them, too fine. McPheej Butland, and Bowler played; wel) in the halves, but special mention should be made of R. Butland, who is indeed a fine player. Whalley and Potts, full-backs, played a safe game. J. Potts is a fearless tackier, and his clean kicking during the game made him outstanding. • . Stevenson, ■, in goal, again brought off some fine saves, and is to be commended for his sure handling of the ball. Owing to the third Test match between' Canada and New Zealand, the local players had a rest from actual play for the Saturday. We are very proud of our Petone neighbours, who had a. representative playing for New Zealand in the person of Campbell, the centre half. Campbell played with credit, his head work being of a high order. "Critic" hopes the local club in the near future will have a player or players to represent their town or county.
