HOCKEY.
The Hutt. Valley Ladles' senior team accounted forHuia in a somewhat easy fashion on Saturday. The winners' combination was splendid, and had it not been for the brilliant defensive game of Miss Childs (Huia) the score would have been higher. Goals were netted by M. Eraser (3), O. Wardell (3), V. Bush and F. Sundgren one each. The Feilding Hockey Association's annual tournament on the King's Birthday proved a great success— thirty ladies' teams competing. Seven of the Hutt Valley's senior team journeyed to Feilding to compete and were successful in bringing back the Dainties' Cup. The team played six games in all, scoring seventeen goals against them. The congratulations of the Club must go out to these members (A. Smith, B. Taylor, F. Sundgren, M. Fraser, L. Corliss, D. Judd, and E. Corsor) for their efforts. Junior B team lost to Karori by one goal on Saturday. This team is shaping well, and with the thorough coaching of Mr. J. Smith, some good players should be seen towards the end of the season.
