* SAY WELL'S RINK WINS MANAWATU CENTRE'S TOURNEY. The Standard (reports that the Ma- : nawatu Rowling Centre's tourney was ' completed on Wednesday afternoon, I after three days' play. In the pla-y- ---!' off between the three rinks (left ill the semi-final heats a high wind spoilt the finer shots. Stewart's and Chaippell's rinks .played off to decide the winners of the "A" section, the result being a win fen.* Ohappell by 24 to 15. The final heat then began. Tliei holders of the banner—J. Bartholomew, Harford, Ffnish and Saywe.ll (fikitp) were matched against the winners in "A" seetio-ii—Mills, L. Pira.ni, Wersfold and Chappell (skip). < SayweH played an aggressive game, ■ and .his rink was 8 points against 1 on the sixth head. On the ninth head, however. Say well put on 5, and continuing to foirge ahead, won by 20 to 11. SaywelFrt rink, which won all its games in the tourney, thus holds the banner for the second comseeutive year, aiul also becomes the winner of the Stansell 'Memorial Shield. Chappell's rink had to fight hard for its place. It won six out of eight games.
