Dear Mr Blenkhorn, —Whon mailing preparations for Christmas—which as you know) is generally a festive ime here—several of the boys were f opinion that the funds which usully go to make Christmas an enjoyable time—by giving a present to yvery boiy—would be better devoted to hose who are suffering from the present. And, in accordance with his view, which was expressed by the I'-hole of the boys here, I enclose lerewith a cheque for £l- f 5 the amount rhich the usual presents and gifts rould have cost, and would like to ee the money placed to the best ad'iintage of a fund to help men in ' his district who have returned from he front and need assistance. _At lie same time I enclose a donation rom myself and some of my people.
