THE WEST FRONT. London, Dec. 15. Sir Doiigkfi Haig reports:— We entered trenches in tho neighbourhood of Monchyaubois southward of Arras, and bombed dug-outs full of troops. The enemy's attempt to raid a position in the neighbourhi>od of Hulluch failed. We bombarded and fired an ammunition -dump in the neighbourhood of Pys. A Paris communique states:— A fairly lively artillery action is proceeding south of the So in me on both banks of tho Meu.sc' and on the heights south of Bonhonime. IN RUMANIA. London, Dec. 14. A Berlin official message states: — Mackensen' is progressing on tho whole front, despite the greatest difficulties. The road from Great Wallachia. south of the railway line to Bucharest and Cernavoda, has been cleared of the enemy. Russian attacks in the wooded 'Carpathians and Serbian .attacks east of the Oerna have been repulsed. RUSSIA'S REPORT. London, Dec. 14. A Russian communique states: — The enemy on December 13 continued his attacks in tlie direction of Buzeu. Our eavalry and infantry camo in contact with the enemy west and south-west of Buzeu and fought a stubborn battle. The communique does not mention the result. Presumably the battle continues.
