New potatoes, are coming in more plentifullj and realize satisfactory prices. Tli6 price of wheat still shows a tendency to advance. Maize is firm at recent rates. Oats show a s?fghtly weaker tendency and fair business doing. Pollard and bnan are steady. Dressed pork is in fa>ir demand aiid . pricee slightly lower. Eggs are scarce and price remains firm. Honey is slow of sale. Poultry is in exceedingly guod demand and realising fancy prices. Vegetables:—Choice cabbage and cauliflower show an improved demand and satisfactory prices are now being realised. Large quantities' of lettuce have been coming in and prices are much lower. Carrots, parsnips and white turnips are in short supply and bring high prices. Spring onions, leeks and beetroot meet with ready sale. Rhubarb is plentiful and the demand good. Choice Nelson green peas are keenly bought up but inferior lilies are slow of sale. Fruit Strawberries, gooseberries and passions are arriving in small parcels and cause keen competition. Larger quantities of local cherries are now coming to hand andi meet with ready sale. Pollard.— £7 10s per ton. Wheat.—Good whole fowl, 7s per bushel. Maize.—ss lOd per bushel.
