New potatoes are coming in more pleiitifullj and realize satisfactory prices. The price of wheat still shows a tendency to advance. Maize is firm at recent rates. Oats show a isWglitly weaker tendency and fair business doing. Pollard and bnan are steady. Dreseed pork is in Mr demand and prices slightly lower. Eggs are scarce and price remains firm. Honey is slow of sale. Poultry is in exceedingly good demand and realising fancy prices. Vegetahles : —Choice cabbage and cauliflower show an improved demand and satisfactory prices are now being realised. Large quantities of lettuce have been coming in and prices are much lower. Carrots, parsnips and white turnips are in short supply and bring high prices. Spring onions, leeks and beetroot meet with ready sale. Rhubarb is plentiful and the demand good. Choice Nelson green peas are keenly bought up but inferior lines are slow of sale. Fruit:—Strawberries. gooseberries and passions are arriving in small parcels and cause keen competition.
