The Serbians brilliantly carried a height north-west <o£ Gruaista and eaet of the Cerna and maintained -themselves thereon despite the furious attacks of the Germans andi Bulgars who suffered heavy losses. The Zouaves' stormed a. height east of iHill 1050, no'rtli of Moinastir, north-west of wlilch violent fighting is progressing. Something was heard about the earnings of munition workers during the heiui.lng of an appeal at 'Enfield by a machinist named Horton, employed by the local munition factory. Asked by the chairman if he did not earn good wages, he said he only received) £3 15s a week—a labourer's wage— while women workers were earning £10 a week on machines. Mr D. "YVes•uii, J.P. (chairman), in granting conditional exemption on domestic grounds said he could not understand what tlie man had to grumble at. It was,however, very surprising that women were ea'rning such big wages.
