LEVIN "CLEANUP AND PAINTUP CAMPAIGN."
(To the Editor). (Sir, —Mr Ecsella is converted already as per his letter of yesterday. He says: "clean- up andl paint-lip natyrnlly conveys an idea of cleanliness, and any sensible man w 1! gladly approve cf it." Of course, Mr 'Editor, you still remember hi-i statement in his first letter on this campa'gn. Hero it is: "One of the worst things that could have happened Levin, /etc.'" We do not object to Mir Ecsella calling himself a critic, but we would like it bettov if he also added that lie was an acrobat, and that somersaulting was his speciality. In regards to his new objection that is: ''our keeping the detail shrouded in mystery," we would state> that this is where the art op our publicity committee comes in, and that we are very pleased indeed with the results .so far. Interest in a matter that i- going to be for one's own health and comfort (whether he lj2 a tenant or a landlord) ifi what we are out for, and 1 the way to create that interest in the m : ndis of every reasonable resident of this town, w:l' be shown during our six weeks' campaign that will commence after the Xew Year holidays. In the mennti::::' we are satisfied to break the ice and it floating. In con el us'en we wish' to state we have no intention of replying to anonymous correspondents, especially o" the Sandy McXab class. This person evidently does not think much of hiis own suggestion when lie is afraid to sign his name.—Yours truly, KENNETH AITKEN 1 , Chain-man, D. W. MATHEKON. Secretary. . I Levin, November 28, 1916.
