Supplies in the south are scarce and shipments continue to arrive from Australia and meet a ready sale at increased prices. The wheat market is excited and a sharp .advance has taken place. Maize also has increased lu price. Oats are firm at recent rates and business , rather dull. Fact- business is passing in pollard and bran and prices are stationary. There is a- keen demand for prime dressed pork which is in very short supply. Eggs continue to be in excellent diemand at the same rates as last week. Vegetables.— There is an .improved demand for spring cabbage and only limited supplies pre! now availabile. Well packed lines of choice cauliflower are in short supply and realizing high rates. Swedes are scarce and prices luigh. Parsnips, table carrots and white tumips are in very short supply. Spring onions, leeks and celery are in excellent demand. The market ~s well supplied with rhubarb ami prices are lower. Only small quantities of ■Nelson grown peas are coming to hand and prices have advanced. Fruit.-—Strawberries and gooseberries are arriving in small quantities and are keenly enquired for. [Dessert and cooking apples are scarce and high prices are ruling. Fruit.—Choice dessert and cooking apples are in good demand and high prices are ruling. Choice pears are very scarce and eagerly bought up at high prices.
