Anglican Church Bazaar

A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. Tlu s annual bazaar for the raising of funds for the support of the Church funds was opened in the Century .Halll yesterday afternoon by Mr C. Hlonkliorn. There was a good number present at the opening ceremony. The mav- ! or, in a few appropriate remarks, pointed out the extent of time given by fhe ladies ill making goods and preparing generally for the bazaar. He had much pleasure in declaring it opened and wished it every success. Business was brisk during the afternoon ; one stall took £10. and the tetal for the lot was £28. The bazaar resumed for business at seven in the evetning. and though the attendance was perhaps hardly as good as in farmer years, it was satisfactory, and at ten o'clock tlie stalls looked pretty bare of goods.

The takings for the day exceeded £42. The feature of the evening was the performmnce I>v tlie children of "Fnirv Revels." 'Hie children were trained by Mrs Matthews and their singing 'and evolutions were very good. The dance by T/ottie Norton woiti' much fipplaufie and the little dancer had to repeat her performance. Tlie accompaniments were played by Mrs Matthews. The various games and competitions wore carried on during the evening inndi tlie result of the guessing competitions wilt be announced this evening. The stall-holders were: Guild worlf stall: Mrs Phillips, Mrs flapper and Miss -Goodbehere; G.F.S. fancy goods stall: M'lvs fitealey. Mrs Brown and members of the G.F.S. ; sweet stall : Mrs Bull a,nd Miss MeNickle,; produce stall: Mrs W. M. Clark and Mrs Butts: tearooms: Mrs Stoekwell. Mrs Weller and Mrs .Tones. The stalls will be re-stocked to-day and the bazaar w.ill be opened again .th-'fi afternoon audi evening when the children .will again "Fairy Tievels." and Lottie, Norton will make a further appearance,
