Levin Defence Rifle Club

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Lovin Defence Rifle Club held its animal meeting on Friday. President G. 1 . B.own in the chair. Consideration was given to a letter from President Gatiley, Hautere Defence Rifle Clitb, regarding the annual competition for the Field "Shield and the Fresh Food and lee Company's Cup. It was resolved that Levin Defence Rifle Club express itself in favour of holding both competitions th's year. Rifleman A. P. Jones was appointed as a delegate to the conference of clubs' representatives to arrange the .preliminaries.

The balance-sheet read by the lion, secretary (Rifleman A. P. Jones) showed a. cash credit balance of £5 18s Id, and a credit balance of £8 2s Id excess of assets over expenditure. The balance-sheet was adopted, members expressing satisfaction at the excellent financial position of the club. On the motion of Rifleman Munro, seconded by Rifleman Mackenzie, .Rifleman A. P. Jones was elected president of the club. In returning thanks for his election to the office, President Jones expressed a hope that he would fill his poet as successfully as the retiring president had done. ■Mr F. O. Smith was re-elected viecpreeident. The appointment- of a secretary was left open until 1 the opening "shcfct" of the season, President Jones undertaking to continue the secretarial fluties until that date. Rifleman T. Brown was re-elected auditor v and Rifleman T>. S. Mackenzie treasurer. Rjflemen J. "Rutherford, J. Munro. S. Butts, 0. Blenkhor.n, and' D. S. Mackenzie were re-elected as the shooting committee, the pres'dent and secretary being members ex officio. It" was decided that the season "be opened on Saturday. 4th November, with an all-comere' match, to: be fired under class-firing conditions.
