4 BANK OF NEW Z BALA'NiD PRODUCE CIRCULAR, 31st July, 1916. Wool.—The filth series of sales commenced here on 11th inst., and termi..nated on 28th inst., the quantities available being 109,400 .bales. Of the total quantity sold 90.000 bales were taken for Home consumption andt 7000 'bales for foreign account, mostly for I'ranco and Russia. During the intorval prices of merino tops, and to a lesser extent, fine crossbreds continued to advance, though there was some irregularity in the quotations. Other qualities were rather affected by the Government action in regard to the home clip, and quotations wore rather easier. There \vns the tislinl representative gathering of home trade who were, as •in previous sales, principal operators, as well as a sprinkling of foreign buyers, and competition, all round was fairly satisfactory, if at times rather slow. Further details of the report will appear to-morrow.
