• JS.Z FARMERS DISTRIBUTING CO., LTD. WEEKLY REPORT. Wellington .Sept, 15. Southern potatoes have been .firm at recent rates but now show a slightly weaker tendency. Wheat shows no change and oats have firmcdi slightly since last report. Maize remains dull of sale and there is uo change in price. There is .good business doing in pollard and bran, recent prices being maintained. Dressed pork is in short supply and the demand keen. Honey is scarce. There is an excellent demand for eggs, which an film at last week's rates. 'Limseed oil cake meal for stock feeding is being used in increasing quantities with satisfactory results. Cau'liflowcrs have been coming to hand in much larger quantities and consequently prices are lower, although choice lines are bringing good prices. Spring cabbage is plentiful andi wellpa ekcdi lots are realising fair prices. Choice lettuce are in good demamd. Swedes are slow of sale. Parsnips, celery. spring onions .and leeks are selling freely at satisfactory rates. Small consignments of rhuba.nb have arrived from the Hutfc during the week and caused keen competition. Choice dessert andi cooking apples are still in short supply and well graded lines are bringing high prices. Dessert pears are scarce .and keenly sought after.
Cabbage.— Choice 6a to 8s; medium 3s to 4b per sack.
Cauliflower.—lo» to 12s; medium 5s to 6s.
Carrots. —-is to -ss; others 3s to 3s Cd. ■Lettuce.—2s to 4s case. Marrows—Us (h]i to 4s 6d per case Rhubarb.—lßs per- dozen lmnchcs. Apples.—Clioice dessert 12s to 14s per case. Pears.— Clioice dessert, Winter Nclis 8s t&f Os per half ease. Honey.— In GO's 6Jd to 7d. Eggs.— Fresh Is 3d to Is 4d per dozen. I WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW SALE. The New Zeiilundi Fanners' Co-opera-tive Distributing Company, Limited, report as follows:— At the wool, sheepskins, hides and tallow sale, wlrich took place on 15th September', there was an unusually ]ftfge attendance of buyers ; competition oil most lots was keen, with the result that prices were firm compared will tHio sale a fortnight ago.
Wool.—The offering was by no means attractive, the better qualities of crutchings being kept out of the salo in view of the poor demand for these during the last few weeks. Dead wool, however, was well competed for and sold up to Is per lb.
Sheepskins.— Practically all kinds of sheepskins now show a hardening tendency, fiuper and medium crossbred realizing as high as 12Jd. Pelts also sold well.
'Hides,—Change- if any, is in .favour •of sellers. Calfskins were in good or- • maud at slightly higher rates than at last sale.
