A Petrograd official message announces a great Russian victory south of the Ihieister in Lower Lialicia. The Russians broke the enemy's front over 10 mi lets and got astride of the Kolomea-Stauislau railway, capturing -the heights beyond.. The prisoners include 2000 Germans. The pursuit continues. A .Russian communique states: lhe successes southward of the Dneister continue. The Russians are pursuing the enemy. We captured Nijiniuv, also Otynia and live villages in that region. The captured ground covers 100 square kilometres. THE I'IGHTING LINE IN FRANCE. London, August 8. The High Commissioner reports.: — The British official reports states: — South-west of Gullleinont we advanced our line about 400 yawls. I Fighting continues near Guillemon I station. N'orth-west (if Pozieres the enemy made .our attacks on our trenches, again using liquid fire. Three failed completely, but by one he managed to occupy about 50 yards of our trench. The enemy shelled Longueval high wood and Pozieres, also the vicinity of Maimetz. Elsewhere matters are quiet. London, August U. On the lower Isonzo and. Gorizia front hot fighting continues at Monte iSabotin'a and Sante Michele. The enemy's strongholds are now completely captured, and the Gorizia bridgehead too. Our * artillery is shelling Gorizia and driving out the enemy. During the fighting on Sunday andi Monday we took over 8000 prisoners, including 200 officers. We also captured eleven guns, 100 machine guns, and much material.
