A cablegram received at the Chronicle office yesterday stated that th-' price of wheat for export from Australia had been fixed at o.s 9(1. The cablegram was printed exactly as it was received by us, but it must have been altered in transmission. In the southern newspapers to hand to-day tile price is given as 4s Od, which is a likelier figure, having regard, to the prognostications received from Australia last week.

The second anniversary of the Declaration of War again Germany falls on Friday, 4th August, and it is intended to mark the event by a series of resolutions throughout the British Empire affirmative of the people's resolution to see the contest through to a satistactory end.
