FOR STARVING BELGIAN CHILDREN.
The following is a full list of the pioduce .sent to Wellington for ssate at the Town Hall: —ti sacks pumpkins, -1 bugs grit, 8 sacks swedes, 'J sack carrots, -1 bagfi carrots, 8 sacks potatoes, 1 sack onions, 11 cases jams and proservos, 8 cases apples, io dozen eggs, 1 case vegetables, 1 sack vegetables, •1 crates pot plans, J parcel Tirea<l, 10 cases cakes, lollies and' bread, 1 case cut flowers, 3(3 baskets ferns; total 100 packages. In cash the sum of £79 5s 2d was scut to the treasurer. The total expt uses amounted U> 11«. On behalf of the teaching staff unci io • itself the Iveviu School Committee tender their host thanks to the parents and children, and all those who so generously sent in produce and donations to so worthy ail object, enabling them to bring the scheme to such a financial success. They especially wish to thank the Heel Cross committee for giving orer their depot to help the fund on Saturday, July 22nd. AI so to Messrs Hook, Hay lis Bras.. Smith nnd C'oVe for carting, etc., ana to Mr J. W. Farland for proceeds of picture entertainment.
