The orange tie s and lemon trees in Mr Wilton's garden Otaki—planted by Mr Byron Brown—are just now a sight well worth seeing. There are several beautiful lemon trees in full bearing, cue having some hundreds of fruit in ■fill stages of growth. The orange--1 roes, though comparatively young, arc yielding a spleindid crop, three or four tr.es having a splendid show of fruit, while one, planted only a few years ago must have quite a hundred oranges •on. The oranges when quite ripe are < f fair size, and though a little, thick in the rind, are sweet and of good flavour. These trees prove conclusively that oranges and iemons ca-n be grown successfully in "semji-tropicnl Otaki,'' and, judging by Mr Wilton's ( rch'.irtl, should also prove most remunerative. Mr W. H.
