The .New Zealand farmers' 00-op-eraflve Distributing Company, Ltd., AVelii'ngtom, reportAt our fortnightly sale held on Friday, 21st inst., we had ■a good representative catalogue of sheepskins, hides and tallow. The attendance of buyers wais large, amd competition on most descriptions animated.. Sheepskins.—There was particularly good offering in all catalogues aii<f very few lots failed to change hands at prices about on a par with those of a fortnight ago. Full wool skins, and lamb-skins were very fir* . Hides.—Ox hides wore iirm compared with last sale. Oow hides occasionally showed a hardening tendency. Oalf ■skins also were eagerly competed for at an advance of about Id per lb. Tallow—There was a fairly good supply on offer and the quality showed considerable improvement on previous catalogues. The market may he quoted as fully firm We are holding all wool for the main sale on the 18th August. The range of prices was as under:— Sheepskins.—-Halibred 12d to 12Jd ; fine crossbreds lid' to 12(1; short to l 011-wools, crossbred lljd to 12d ; medium, coarse 7d to 10id; dead and damaged crossbred 7id to TOd; inferior cd badly damaged Id to 8d ; lambs Bjd ; t« 12d; damp, salted and green 3a 6d to 13s 4d.; pelts 4d to Bfd ; lambs fialtcrl and greeni 3s 6d to Ys. Hides.—Ox heavy. 601bs up, Hid to 12d ;mediiim. 60-59. llid to 12d; light, 40 and under 10d/ to lOJd; cow, heavy 441b and over lOd to lOJd; medium 42 to 54, IOJd to 10|d; light, under 42 BJd to lOJd; cut. slippy and inferior 7Jd to lOd ; bull stag 6d to 8d; yearlings. If) to 24, Brl to lOJd: calf superior, 12d to 14d; medium goodi, up to 16Tb) BJd to ll|d; calf damaged fid to 9d. Tallow.—ln ensks 30s to 31s; in tins, etc., 26s to 325.
N.Z, FARMERS' DISTRIBUTING COMPANY, LIMITED. WEEKLY REPORT. Wellington July 21. Uie potato market hats been veriy dul) during the past week and prices have declined slightly. There is very little business doing in oate, whcli show a slightly weaker tone.- Wheat is firm at recent rates and fair business doing. J'o/lurd and bran are steady at last week's rates. An excellent demand exists for prime dressed pork and good prices are being realized*. Tfie market is practically bare of honey' which is keenly enquired for. Linseed oil meal for stock feeding is in good demand. Cabbage, cauliflower and lettuce continue to realize high prives and are in short supply. Carrots and white turnips are plentiful and prices Jtower. Parsnips are in good demand and larger supplies would meet ready sale, sale. Swedes are plentiful and prices low. Tomatoes arrived in large quantities from Raratanga, but only firstclass lines met with good demand. Choice dessert 'apples are scarce, and meet ready sale at high prices. Cooking apples also are in short supply, and there is keen competition for well-packed lines. Choice dessert f ais are realising fancy price. Walnuts are soarce and keemly enquired for. Oats—Crushed, 4s 2d per bushel. Apples—Dessert, Choice, 12e +o 14s per case. Apples—Cooking,6s to 8s per ease. Pears—Choice Dessert, 10s to 12s pi>r case. Lemons—£l Is per case.
