There was a good 'attendance of the executive present. A large number of fresh members were added to the membership list, thereby increasing the inein.her.shrp by over oO per •ent. The following resolutions were passed (the last two of which are to be forwarded to the chairman of the County Council)

I.—That members of the executive of the Wirokiitio Hiding Ratepayers' Association make an inspection of -.ie roads in the riding on a date to be. arranged, and that any 'ordinary member desirous of joining them be invited to come if sufficient motor cars are available.

2.—'That this Association invites the co-operation of all ratepayers in the Horowhemifl county to assist the Council to secure a severance rrom the "Wellington Hospital nnd Aid Hoard with a view of amalgamation with the l'almeifitoii Hospital 1 and Charitable Aid Boer<i.

3.—Thru the Horcvwhenua County Council be asked to inform the Association how rates are collected from native occupiers of land, and whether the Ac+ providing for the collecting of ench rates enabW 'any native occupier 1o escape bis liability in this respect.

Amongst the correspondence received by the executive of the Association was the following communication from the .County Clerk—"That the "Wirokino Riding Ratepayers' Association be advised that, the icounty Wlance-sTieet will be printed as soon as audited, nnd immediately the printed copies come to hand a copy wiTl he forwarder", to the Association." The foregoing replv was sent in answer to « request for information ms to what amount of rates had been received in the riding for the past, twelve months, and Tio.w th" amount so received wan expended. This information wilV doubtless reach tbe Association in due courwe wTien fpll consideration will be given to it.
